April 2008
Tori and the Self Dogs are leaving the site. I know, it's really sad, lol. We'll be opening our own site at www.hippiedogs.com soon, so keep a look out!! :D
January 18-20, 2008
Both Amy and Tori showed this weekend.
Rock had an 0fer weekend, but still had lot's of fun! Toby got a 3rd and Q in Snooker on Saturday, but couldn't pull off the title for Sunday (too early in the morning, haha, he was soooo fresh...:D).
Chase racked up some ribbons over the weekend. Another Grand Prix Q that qualified us for Nats, 4th place. Also, another Steeplechase Q that qualified us for Nats, 8th place on Saturday, no placement Sunday (aframe contact, bleh). A Snooker Q on Sunday (scratched Saturday, wasn't paying attention and thought we were farther down in the running order, whoops!) 2 PAIRS Q's!!! yay! finally getting some pairs in there. :D Another gamble on Saturday, fun run. 2 Standard Q's. 1st on Saturday!! (only ones to Q in the class!! xD) and 2nd on Sunday!!! No jumpers Q though, pulled a bar, but still a good run. Oh, and I got to run Mindy's Switch on Friday in Grand Prix! Man that dog has a different running style, haha. I messed her up in the weaves, but we still Q'd with 5 faults. Good girlie!
Koda rocked the ring this weekend! We had some nerves but we pulled through with a que and a second place in starters gamblers on friday. We both have never played gamblers so that was quite an adventure. later we skiped saturday and showed on sunday in starters snookers which we were doing great in untill a bar was nocked and then we had a back jump. oh well we had a lot of distance between our reds and only went for the sevens. i was pretty happy with that run, truly i didnt think we would get as far as we did. later we ran in standard and had an awesome run. im so proud of koda! We have never had a good standard run but this one was almost flawless. what a fun run! Im just so happy, we're really comming along. We didnt "Q" because he missed his a-frame contact which is weird because he always gets it, i mean we have an a-frame in my backyard. then we had a jumpers run which went well. Mindy came running up to me saying i was gonna miss my run so i grabed koda who was sleeping and ran to the starting line. the run was fast but not his usual fast obviously because i just woke him up. anyways we got forth place and qualified.
January 12/13, 2008
Just the Self dogs this weekend.
Toby was in Masters Gamblers on Saturday for the first time, and was a very good boy. No Q, but he did get the gamble (just not in time, hehe). Rocky got his first Advanced Standard Q (finally!) after about 50 tries. haha. No gamble for the Rockster though. Sunday Toby had a fabulous Advanced Snooker run, with a 2nd place! We took 2 7's and a 6 and got through 6 in the closing! No Jumpers for either of the boys, and no standard for Rock, but they had fun. :D
Chase and I NQ'd in the Grand Prix on Saturday but did get a Q in Steeple, ending up with 5th and $9.84 on Sunday! lol. No standard Q's all weekend, but we did get one of the elusive jumpers Q's on Sunday. No pairs though. Also finished our Gamblers Master title on Saturday and almost Q'd in Snooker on Sunday except missed the aframe contact.
December 25, 2007 (Christmas!!)
Everyone had a great Christmas!! All of the dogs got new toys and bones to play with, and Tori and Amy got some new dog stuff too!
Amy got a brand new A-frame for Christmas! And Tori got a new teeter and a-frame! Whoo hoo! more for the backyard. :D
November 16-18, 2007
Tori we're all glad your weekend went well! i swear chase has been getting better and better with every run! Unfortunately my (Amy) run wasent what you would be so proud of. lol. We ran only on saturday with standard and steeplechase, both runs were terrible. Although, koda is only one and some change so im not to depressed! Our standard was okay for our first run with usdaa but our steeplechase was a complete disaster! Koda went crazy and had the zoomies so i left the ring with my "wonderful dobe" who seemed to have no clue that the run was a bit serious.
so this is just on how my (Tori) weekend went. I'm tired, lol. :D
Toby was just in Gamblers and Jumpers (advanced), he got third in gamblers with a Q and his title! So on to masters!! And we knocked the first bar in jumpers, but other than that it was a great run. Love that dog to pieces. <33
Rocky was in everything except the tournaments and stuff on Friday. 1/6...lol. No standard Q's, but he did move for me so I'll probably keep entering him in standard. No gamblers on Saturday (not enough points), no jumpers or snooker on Sunday, completely forgot that I was running him in Snooker so I had to use Chase's course and he was a couple points short of a Q..oh well, he's a good boy! Jumpers he ran around the first jump, but after I took him back he was good. ^^
Chase had an AMAZING weekend. really and truly, it was awesome. Friday he got his third superQ that we needed giving him his Snooker Masters title!!! (plus first place!) He also got a jumpers Q on Friday, only 3 more now. :D Saturday he got a Q and 4th in Standard, no gamblers (the gamble was really hard, and he did it, miraculously, but was .74 seconds over time. Oh well, we only need one more of those. :]). No steeplechase, was too tired from grand prix, which owned. hehe....yea, it was a pretty sweet run and I was very very shocked to see the results. For some reason I really felt like pushing him in that run. We were in sync the entire time, tight, clean, and FAST! It was a really fun course to run. Well Chase got second place!! (of course, Qwik and Stuart Mah beat us by like 3 or 4 seconds, but that is to be expected..lmao) Anyway, we had a second on Jet, Pati Mah's dog and some other very nice and fast dogs. It's such a big deal to me, my baby BARBIE (haha, maybe not that much barbie...lol) boy was amazing.
Sunday we got another standard Q and our Standard Masters title!! We also got ANOTHER superQ, that we didn't need! lol. I freaked out over nothing...haha. In jumpers there was a lead out pivot with a triple, and Chase anticipated the turn and knocked it, but he tried and had a pretty good time. :D
Rev was good too...she met another twin this weekend (different from a couple of weekends ago when she met a twin at MFGRC). Forgot the pups name but she was from the Banshee/Wow! Speedoggie litter. Still like Rev's eyes better though....haha. ^_^
October 27/28, 2007
ahhh! Forgot to update...hehe.
The Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club Trial was a blast! Despite all the rain and muddiness, everyone had very nice runs and a lot of fun!!
Amy and Koda had a little bit of difficulty with Standard this weekend, but she wasn't pushing him too hard as he has been having a couple of issues with the dogwalk. However, they did get their Novice JWW title on Sunday! and are now moving on to compete in Open!! Congrats you guys!!!!!!
Tori and the boys had a pretty good weekend as well. Toby was scratched from Standard both days since the dogwalk was wet and he's had problems with it before. Plus, he's pretty aggressive climbing up that thing and we didn't want him to get hurt. His JWW runs went ok. Saturday was GREAT, but super tough weave entry and he missed it (still a nice run though). Sunday Tori didn't get to walk the course until the last minute, so not only did she not know what was going on, but Tobe broke his start line too! Silly boy, but he had a nice fun run. In Novice FAST Toby Qualified on Saturday (with an interesting descent from the a-frame I must say), and got 2nd on Sunday (to his brother, I might add...:D).
Rocky did great, he Q'd in JWW on Saturday with a 1st, same with Std but with a 2nd. On Sunday he knocked the triple in JWW, giving him his first NQ in AKC ever, but did Q with a 2nd in Std again for his title! On to Excellent!!! In FAST Rocky got 2nd on Saturday and 1st on Sunday, such a good boy!
Chase was awesome. Saturday was his day. 2nd DQ, plus 30 speed points and 4th place in both! Also his first Q in FAST (should've gotten third but the darn microphone was going in and out and we didn't get credit for out 8 pt a-frame....
Sunday was a "good dog, bad handler" day so to speak. Standard went well, except with the triple down at the end because he saw his leash and flattened. JWW, Tori didn't support the 3rd jump! eeek! Oh well, it was a fun run and he was a good boy. :D Chase also Q'd in FAST with a 2nd! One more to go until Open. ^^
Our next show will be Dog-On-It on November 17/18. Check back for updates! (Tori will be going both days, plus Friday with Chase, but Amy will only be there Saturday in Steeplechase and Standard...she's gotta get her permit on Sunday!)
October 18, 2007
ok, so decades day was awesome!! i (tori) was such a flower child...haha. and amy was a go-go girl from the 60s. it was great.
when we got off the bus we had my ipod in and sang "All You Need Is Love" all the way back to Amy's house. gotta love it! so great, wish we could dress up like that everyday. lol :]
October 6/7, 2007
Cool Critters USDAA show! Amy didn't go to this one since Koda isn't quite 18 months yet, but Tori and the boys had fun.
Toby was a little off again, but managed to pull out a 1st in pairs and a 1st in jumpers (advanced).
Rocky got his Advanced Snooker title! and had some good runs through the weekend. He got his gamble on Sunday, but unfortunately took a dump on the teeter on the way out. hehe.
Chase's DAM team got 8th and a Q, no more tournament Q's to worry about for his ADCH!! Chase also had a fabulous Snooker run, 3 sevens and all the way through 6, but there were a couple other dogs with more points in their runs that we couldn't quite beat out for that SQ. What a good boy though! He also got another Gamblers Q (only one more to go!), and the big news of the weekend, Chaserdoo went MAD!!!!! crazy boy. :D
It was a great weekend and we all had a blast in the team competition! Thanks Mindy/Shocker, Janet/Tizzy, Mike/Maddy, and Lori/Splash!! It was soooooooooo much fun!!!!! :]
September 22/23, 2007
Both Amy and Tori attended the ODTC trial this past weekend and did great!! Amy and Koda qualified and took first in their first ever run, jww. They had a couple of refusals the rest of the weekend, so no more Q's, but man did they rock those courses, especially the weave poles!
Tori and Toby were a little bit off all weekend. Poor Tobster hasn't shown for 5 months so we're hoping he just was getting back into the groove of things.
Rocky did fabulously! He qualified out of novice jww and standard on Saturday, getting a 2nd in jww and 1st in std. And on Sunday won both of his classes in Open!! Not bad for his second AKC show ever.
Chase did fantastic as well! On Saturday Tori and Chase got their AX title, winning the class, and had they been in Exc B already they would've won that class too! They also got 15 more MACH points from their second place jww run on Saturday, 38 MACH points from their first place standard run on Sunday, 16 MACH points from their second place jww run on Sunday, and their first double Q ever!!! whoo hoo!!!
So it was a great weekend for everyone!! Can't wait until the next show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
August 17/18, 2007
Amy takes Koda to their first fun match ever, and they did great!! Better watch out, these guys are a force to be reckoned with!! They'll be debuting September 22/23. :D
July 15, 2007
Tori brought home little Revolution from Virginia! Man was it a long drive. :]
June 30/July 1, 2007
Tori, Chase, and Rocky competed at DACOF (the Dog Agility Competition of Florida). It's a team competition mainy following AKC rules. This year, in addition to the regular standard and jww classes, they also got to play FAST! Chase's team, K9's 24-7, kept their title of state champs for the second year in a row when they got first place! Chase also got high in trial for the 20" open class!!
Rocky and his team also had a fabulous weekend. Rock brought home a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and his team got 12th place!! way to go guys!!!
